Chip implant in humans
Recently I read an article in ZDNet week, issue #43 about implanting RFID chips under people's skin. This method of human implant may allow identification in the event of a disaster but is also ringing privacy alarm bells. The main point against the implementation of this technology is the invasion of privacy. This technology was introduce on pets more than a decade ago so that pet owners can keep tabs on their dogs and cats. When the same is applied to humans, it is a big no no because of the invasion of privacy. The RFID technology is not possible to track someone in real time but with the rapid development of Global Positioning System, in the near future, we can keep track of a person's movement around the globe if he/she has the chip implant. Verichip was created by Applied Digital. The chips is a 11-mm RFID tag that are implanted in the fatty tissue below the right tricep. When near a scanner, the chip is activated and emits an ID number. It was the Sept. 11 incident that sparked the idea to create the verichip. Firefighters wrote their badge numbers on their arms so that they could be identified in case they were disfigured or trapped. According to the article, it has been estimated that 1,000 chips have been inserted into humans, most are from outside the US. People have the chip implanted as a form of security. If they are kidnapped, the chip will help the right authorities to find them. It would be interesting to follow the development of this technology and the acceptance / non-acceptance of human chip implant. Source :insight.zdnet.co.uk/chips

I would like to pray for all people who are considering implanting a micro-chip in their arms to not do this. The chip is produced at a company called VeriChip (http://www.4verichip.com/). Already this chip is used to buy drinks at the Baja Beach Club in Barcelona, Spain. This technology is set to take off, because of all the worries about security and identity theft. Some day in the future when the VeriChip becomes common due to scanning reasons, it will end up in the right hand.
To be sure, only those who have the chip will be able to buy and sell. I realize prophesy comes from God and it can’t be stopped. However, Jesus calls us to proclaim God’s Kingdom and to inform everyone to except salvation through his sacrifice. I feel it’s the church’s duty is to warn people of this technology which most assuredly represents the beginning of the Mark of the Beast. The bible is our truth and written in its pages is this scripture, “ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” (Revelations Chapter 20, Verse 4). With this knowledge Pat, can you make known the current growing technology from VeriChip?

I don't think it will end up in the hand, because it can be cut out of the hand too easy. The people who do this really just are so deluded they haven't a clue how such technology would be abused. Everyone hates the government now, right? Imagine having a government that you can't avoid because of a chip in your body. I suspect that the people who would want to do such a thing would say it will make everyone safer and even believe it will end crime. However, considering governments usually aren't competent to make anyone safer and really don't know what is a crime and what isn't, no one will be better off. If someone lacks enough self-respect to put a chip in his body, does he deserve the consequences it creates? Personally, I like to joke about women putting the chip in places men wouldn't dare cut into to keep track of their husbands. I also like to laugh at it because that means anyone can invent the technology to use that chip. Just imagine what certain hackers could do. The problem is real though, because people will eventually want to make the argument that such universal use of the chip won't create a utopia unless everyone has it implanted. People are stupid. They make stupid choices. They won't understand it when other people are not as stupid as they. Would rest of the world today accept having chips put in their arms? No way! Not today...
